Saturday - arrive and check-in
- Relax at our sandy and lovely Lake Michigan
Beach -- FREE
- Eat scrumptious burgers at an old-fashioned
drive-in restaurant — Clydes
- Airplane Ride over the Straits Area ($30 per
person) EXCELLENT!!!
- Head into downtown St. Ignace and walk the
Huron Boardwalk -- FREE
- Watch the spectacular sunset at our beach— FREE
Sunday - St. Ignace
- Worship at one of our local churches — FREE
- Spend a relaxing afternoon hiking and sun
bathing — FREE
- Vesper Cruise at Arnold Dock, sail under Mighty
Mac Bridge — FREE
- (Vesper Cruise leaves Sun. from Mackinaw City, Fri. from St. Ignace)
Monday - Mackinac Island - Voted #1 Tourist Town in the Midwest by Family Fun Magazine
- Visit Fort Mackinac and Historic sites ($22 per
family)
- Bike around the island ($7 per bike ferry fee
or rent bikes on island)
- Eat lots of fudge! Sample fudge at all shops to

- Relax at the Balsams with a campfire on the

- OR Go to Historic Mill Creek Adventure Park- $7.50 admission plus $5 for zipline and rock wall
Tuesday - Sault Ste. Marie
- Visit the Soo Locks and watch enormous
freighters go through
- Take in the museums and shops at Sault Ste.
Marie
- Take the narrated boat tour through the Locks--
Adults $20, Kids 13-18 $16.50, children 4-12 $7.50
- If time and energy permit head for the Agawa
Canyon Train Ride
- On the way back climb Castle Rock for a spectacular view (50 cents)
Wednesday - Whitefish Pointe and Tahquemenon Falls
- Head north to Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at
Whitefish Pointe--worth every penny of admission. Adults $7.50; kids
6-12 $4.50.
- From there head to Tahquemenon Falls State Park
$5 per car
- Bring water shoes and bathing suits and be sure
to take the $2 per person rowboat ride to the island at the lower falls
- Enjoy a picnic lunch and a HUGE ice cream cone
at the concession stand
- If time permits squeeze in the cranberry bog
tour nearby
- VISIT OSWALD'S BEAR RANCH $15 PER CAR AND WORTH EVERY PENNY, CLOSE TO THE FALLS
Thursday - Pictured Rocks, North Country Trail or Sand Dunes
- Optional day trip to Munising and Pictured
Rocks National Lakeshore voted the #2 Nature Escape in the Midwest by

- Take short or long hikes on picturesque cliffs
for spectacular photos. The Miners Beach Trail will take you to a
secluded cove with a white-sand beach
- View shipwrecks in Lake Superior on a
glass-bottomed boat - low lake levels mean excellent view of sunken
ships. Also see the beautiful Pictured Rocks. Adults $22 Kids 12 and
under $9
- For those who stay behind. Check out the North country Trail - a national scenic trail that will extend from New York to North Dakota. Hikers are welcome to the 35 mile stretch in the St. ignace District. Or head to the trails at the Hiawatha National Forest - just a few miles west of us. - FREE
- Or spend a day at the sand dunes just west of us on US 2- park by the road and enjoy--FREE
Friday - St. Ignace and vicinity
- Take in the local history and sites
- ST. Ignace — visit Totem Village, Fr. Marquette
Park, Castle Rock, Fort deBaude Indian Museum, Curio Fair, Souvenir
Barn, Ojibway Museum, local library for historical books.
- Go West on U.S. 2 to see Mystery Spot, Deer Ranch, Sand Dunes at Brevort,
Cut River Gorge, Gar-Lynn Wildlife Park and other attractions.
Saturday - Mackinaw City and home
- Head home—stop in downtown Mackinaw City and
Fort Michilimackinac (included in your Fort Mackinac Family Pass
- Bring home lots of Fudge, Beef Jerky and
Pasties.
- Tell all your friends about your wonderful vacation at the
Balsams.
